The Peninsula Club hosts high-level dialogue on unlocking climate finance in Tanzania

The Peninsula Club convened a high-level dialogue in Dar es Salaam to address barriers and opportunities for mobilising climate finance in Tanzania, bringing together government officials, private sector representatives, development partners and financial institutions to discuss policy, regulatory and capacity gaps, and to explore mechanisms such as blended finance, green bonds and public–private partnerships to accelerate investment in climate-resilient infrastructure and nature-based solutions; participants emphasised the need for clearer climate finance policies, enhanced project bankability, stronger institutional coordination and capacity building, as well as improved data and standards to attract private capital while ensuring equitable benefits for vulnerable communities.
